Roy joined the Raffai laboratory in September 2009. He was previously volunteering in Dr. Rajabrata Sarkar's laboratory at the same institution investigating mechanisms of deep vascular thrombosis resolution in transgenic mouse models. His major role has been to assist Delphine Eberle Ph.D. to investigate the isoform specific effects of apolipoprotein E on atherosclerosis progression and regression in our hyperlipidemic mouse models. His other role in the lab is to assist Kang Li M.S., M.D. to study the immune-regulatory role of plasma lipoproteins in atherosclerosis. He is also involved in collaborative work to investigate the role of microRNA's in liver mediated plasma lipid metabolism in mice with Dr. Holger Willenbring at UCSF and to investigate the effect of FTY720 in atherosclerosis and heart function in our mouse model of coronary atherosclerosis and heart failure with Dr. Joel Karliner at the VAMC.
Roy is currently applying to graduate school biomedical science programs.
